ART CLAY CERTIFICATION


Why Should I Become Certified?

The certification classes are carefully planned to guide the student through the techniques for designing and constructing quality work. The certified student then is able to purchase Art Clay supplies at a discount and enjoys a variety of other benefits.

Level 1 Certification

A 3 day workshop is required for Level 1 Certification. This workshop is designed to provide an in-depth knowledge of Art Clay. The curriculum covers 9 different projects, teaching a variety of techniques, including the use of organic forms, creating flat and round-shank rings and a mirror finish. Additionally, the course covers the inclusion and firing of gemstones, glass, and our exclusive Overlay Paste. This course provides general and technical information and helpful teaching guidelines.

Upon Successful completion of the Level 1 Certification worshop you will be entitled to:

  • a 35% discount on Art Clay Silver clay products

  • various discounts on books, tools, and supplies

  • to teach Art Clay introductory courses

Crossover Certification

For those already certified in PMC Rio Rewards or PMC Connection with an interest in Art Clay, the 1-day Crossover workshop will bridge the gap between PMC and Art Clay curricula. The class tuition includes materials, clay and firing to complete 3 projects.

Upon Successful completion of the course, students will be eligible for Level 1 clay discounts and other benefits.

Senior Certification

An intensive 3 or 4 day workshop is required for Senior Level Certification. The Senior Certification workshop is designed to provide advanced techniques as well as a creative challenge for the individuals who have completed Level 1 Certification. This course teaches students to incorporate gold foil, gold paste from clay, brass, and fine silver bezel wire. It also introduces the use of 3-dimensional design in the creation of hollow forms, with emphasis on detail and fine finishing.

Pre-requisite: Art Clay Silver Level 1 Certification

Post-requisite: Art Clay World, USA. approves and certifies instructors into the Senior Instructor community by reviewing an application and examining a selection of 3 pieces of original work. The pieces submitted must reflect specific techniques and skills the individual learned during their Art Clay education. A non-refundable $200 application fee is also required from anyone submitting for Senior Instructor Status

Upon Successful completion of the Senior Level Certification, you will be entitled to:

  • a 42% discount on Art Clay Silver clay products

  • various discounts on books, tools, and supplies

  • teach all Art Clay Certification classes

  • a listing on the website as a Senior instructor and an optional artist page on the Art Clay World website
